Joshua Tree Engagement // Leah + Matt
Joshua Tree National Park is definitely one of my top favorite national parks in the United States. It’s unlike any other place I’ve been to - with huge rock formations, cactuses, and of course the iconic Joshua Trees, the scenery is absolutely breathtaking. Especially at golden hour this is the perfect place for magical engagement photos.
Leah + Matt reached out to me earlier in the year wanting to do their engagement shoot at a super unique + epic location. I knew Joshua tree would be just perfect. They flew me out to California and I got to spend the whole weekend hanging out in Palm Springs and exploring the national park. It was so fun to getaway from the Northwest rain and soak in the warmth of the desert.
The day of the engagement shoot I went out to find the perfect location in Joshua tree (since the national park is HUGE), and I met up with Leah + Matt right before sunset. Let me say they looked SO STUNNING - Leah rocked an emerald green dress and not to mention the bouquet created from dry florals matched the desert vibe perfectly. They were both so comfortable in front of the camera and we had so much fun walking around the trails, doing little dances, and capturing the perfect light at golden hour. You can totally see their love for each other shine through in all of the photos! Once the sun set Leah + Matt did an outfit change, and I was obsessed with the leather jacket and ripped jeans situation. Like how cute are they?!
If you’re planning to do an engagement shoot you can totally rock a formal/dressier outfit and then change into something more casual/fun. This is the perfect opportunity to make the most of your engagement session and get a variety of amazing photos.
We took photos till sundown, and I was SOOO sad for the night to end, but I’m so glad I got to meet these two and capture their love. Joshua tree is definitely a park that inspires me to be creative and I can’t wait till I’ll get to be there again.
