Downtown Portland Wedding - Block House // Vandella + Garrett
So let me start off by saying that this wedding has a super special place in my heart. I’m SOOOO honored that I got to be a part of Vandella + Garrett’s love story. Not only did I get to capture their wedding but I got to shoot their proposal in the park they went on their first date to, their engagement at the most gorgeous waterfall, and then months later their stunning wedding at Block House in downtown Portland! Like who else gets such an AMAZING opportunity.
Garrett got ready with all of his friends in a desert themed air-bnb and Vandella got ready with all her gals at her home in North Portland. What made it all extra special was the supportive and most loving friends + family that surrounded them on their special day. AND can we talk about the first look??!! They rented out the WHOLE entire greenhouse just for themselves, to soak in the moment together before promising forever to each other. Like hoowww sweet?!
At the ceremony they wrote each other personal vows that seriously got me tearing up behind the camera, especially when they mentioned their love for late-night Taco Bell and McDonalds ice cream cones. I mean who wouldn’t tear up at that, AMIRITE? But what really touched my heart was how they dedicated their wedding to making Jesus Christ the center of it all. Everything from the ceremony to the prayers were focused on HIM.
OF COURSE as the sun started to set there were beautiful + emotional first dances, (which of course I started tearing up AGAIN). And the most epic dance party + a gorgeous sparkler exit ended the night. This wedding seriously gave me all the feels, and I’m so blessed to have been part of such a special day!
