Moody + Dark October Bridals

In the season of everything dark and moody we woke up at 6 A.M. to catch this gorgeous morning fog. I couldn’t have asked for a more amazing early morning shoot, and can we talk about what a QUEEN Sulamita is!? With fall coming up I really wanted to do a moody bridal shoot, but I definitely wanted to plan something different than the usual ‘white wedding dress’ bridals, thats where a black wedding dress fit perfectly.

I woke up at 6 A.M. to go pick up Sulamita (which I would usually never do, but what can you say it was for the photos haha.) I may or may not have almost crashed into a few curbs and gotten lost a few times driving over to her place because of how thick the fog was, but when I finally picked her up, we grabbed coffee and chatted on the way to our location (and btw she is the sweetest soul ever.) It was probably one of the most quiet and mesmerizing mornings I’ve witnessed, thick fog where you can’t see trees in the distance, and an almost eerie morning silence. We had so much fun freezing our fingers off and getting creative with poses and different ways we could utilize the environment around us. It was so refreshing for me to be able to shoot something totally different, get weird and try out new ideas.

I think sometimes for us photographers we get stuck in creative ruts, getting used to the usual prompts and poses on our weddings and engagement shoots. So I totally encourage you guys to go and plan out a shoot for YOURSELF, let your creativity and ideas come to life! Hope you guys enjoy these photos as much as I loved putting it all together! :)
